Day One : Setting sail

The first leg of our roadtrip would be to take the ferry from Portsmouth and then to drive down to enjoy a few days at Claire and Bruce's place in France. The 3 hour ferry crossing turned out to me the most rough crossing either of us had undertaken, but thankfully we were able to keep hold of our stomach's, while all around us people were carrying half-full little bags!

Our route took us pretty close to the Le Mans racing cicruit, and so we took a small detour to have a little break, and to explore. We were unable to talk our way onto the track itself, but the museum was fantastic, and if we pass this way again one day, I think we will go for a longer visit.

Today was always planned to be a travel-heavy day, and with the ferry delays and slow crossing the journey took even longer than initially anticipated. Arriving and Claire & Bruce's place was like pulling into a not-so-small piece of heaven :)
