During our 5200km 34 day family roadtrip across 6 countries we uploaded 2 or 3 photos each day to give a snapshot of what we had been up to. Managed via smartphone, their not always the 'best' photos, but to give our friends and family a way to keep in touch with what we up to day by day (as well as to remind ourselves!)
